Latest news about Gujarat Police grade pay : The government has announced an interim package to end the ongoing agitation over the police grade pay issue. 10 days before Divyabhaskar, one of the main leaders of the government said that the grade pay for the police will not be announced, but only the interim package will be announced.
The government will announce an interim package and the report has been confirmed verbatim. The government has announced a package of Rs 550 crore for the interim package of police.
Accepting these meetings and the recommendations of the committee with the welfare of the policemen and their families in mind, an annual budget of Rs. 550 crores fund approved.
A committee was formed on an urgent basis after taking into consideration the various representations and demands of the employees of the police department.
Accordingly, many meetings were organized under the chairmanship of myself and the Minister of State for Home Affairs and discussions were held.
The Chief Minister gave the information by tweeting :
The Chief Minister tweeted today at 6 pm on August 14 and informed that, based on the recommendation received after the appointment of a committee considering the demands of the police personnel, I am announcing a fund of Rs 550 crore.
Before approving this fund, several meetings were also held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister and the Minister of State for Home Affairs and after which this decision has been taken.

મુખ્યમંત્રીએ આજે 14 ઓગસ્ટે સાંજે 6 વાગ્યે ટ્વીટ કરીને જાણકારી આપી હતી કે, પોલીસ કર્મચારીઓની માંગણીઓને ધ્યાને રાખીને કમિટીની નિમણૂક કરાયા બાદ મળેલી ભલામણને આધારે રૂપિયા 550 કરોડના ભંડોળની જાહેરાત કરું છું. આ ભંડોળ મંજૂર કરતાં અગાઉ મુખ્યમંત્રી અને ગૃહ રાજ્યમંત્રીની અધ્યક્ષતામાં અનેક બેઠકો પણ યોજાઈ હતી અને જે બાદ આ નિર્ણય લેવાયો છે.

ASI will get a salary of Rs 5,84,094 when the government announces the package. Police constables will get a salary of Rs 4,16,000 per annum. Police head constables will get a salary of Rs 4,95,000 per annum. The annual salary of LRD jawans will be Rs 3,47,250.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel urged the Home Department to summon all the files to himself.
The inquiry committee handed over the report in April, 2022 itself
In the month of October 2021, after the agitation regarding police grade pay, the government formed an inquiry committee.
After one term of this committee ended in December 2021,
the term of the committee was renewed once again till April, 2022.
Interim package should be given till payment of grade pay: Recommendation to Govt
The committee has handed over the inquiry report to the government.
Within this report, Gujarat was compared with the applicable grade pay in different states.
The grade pay for police in Gujarat is relatively low, so while submitting the report it was recommended that benefits should be given to police personnel by announcing an interim package till the grade pay is announced.
