India becomes the second largest manufacturer of PPE kits after China, producing 3 lakh N-95 masks daily
In Corona, India helped 150 countries, and the United Nations praised it
New Delhi. When the first case of coronavirus was reported in India, not a single PPE kit was made in the country. However, now the country has become the second largest country in the world in manufacturing PPE kits. After China, India is currently making 5 lakh PPE kits daily.
India is not limited to making kits and using them in the country, it also sells them to countries like USA and UK. According to the Ministry of Health, India exported 2.3 million PPE kits to five countries, including the US-UK and the UAE, in July.
In addition to PPE kits, India has also increased its capacity to make masks. More than 3 lakh N-95 masks are being made in the country every day. Never before has such a large number of masks been manufactured in the country.
Exports of pharma products increased, imports decreased
Not only PPE kits and masks but India has also increased exports of pharma products. According to data available at the Ministry of Commerce, imports of pharma products declined by 1.41 per cent in the three months between April and June. Between April and June last year, India imported pharma products worth Rs 4,172 crore from other countries. While in three months of this year, we have imported products worth Rs 4,113 crore. This means that imports of pharma products have declined by Rs 58 crore this year as compared to last year.
In contrast, its exports during the three months have increased by about 22 per cent compared to last year:

Demand for coronavirus from China increased in March. The reason is the drug hydroxychloric acid. The drug is usually an aphrodisiac in curing malaria but was initially found to have a good effect on corona infected patients as well. Later, more than 100 countries of the world sought hydroxychloricquin from India.
According to government figures, India supplied 50 million hydroxychloricin drugs to the United States alone. India is the largest manufacturer and exporter of hydroxychloricin in the world. Not only hydroxychloriquine but also paracetamol tablet demand has increased.
Speaking at the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations in June, Modi said India had helped 150 countries in the Corona.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also praised India for helping countries around the world during the Corona.
However, it is not known how India helped the country during the Corona period. However, India provides financial assistance to many countries every year, including Nepal and Bhutan.
