To legally drive any motor vehicle in Gujarat, the first step is to obtain a Learner’s Licence (LL) from the Gujarat RTO. The LL is valid for 6 months, and you can apply for a permanent DL after 30 days.

Permanent Driving Licence (DL) Gujarat – Process
After 30 days of LL issuance, you can apply for a permanent DL.
How to Apply Online for Permanent Driving Licence in Gujarat?
- Visit parivahan.gov.in
- Select Driving Licence Related Services
- Choose State – Gujarat
- Click Apply Online → New Driving Licence
- Enter LL Number
- Upload documents (if required)
- Book Driving Test Slot
- Visit RTO with your vehicle for the DL Test
- On passing the test → DL will be sent by Speed Post
If your DL is expired or expiring, you can renew it online.
