As of June 5, 2025, the Government of India has mandated that all ration card holders complete the e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) process to continue receiving subsidized food grains under the Public Distribution System (PDS). This initiative aims to enhance transparency and eliminate fraudulent beneficiaries.

📅 Deadline for e-KYC Completion

  • National Deadline: March 31, 2025.

  • Gujarat-Specific Deadline: June 30, 2025. The Government of Gujarat has extended the deadline to ensure all beneficiaries complete the e-KYC process.

Failure to complete the e-KYC process by the respective deadlines may result in suspension of ration benefits.

🛠️ Methods to Complete e-KYC

1. Online via State PDS Portal

  • Visit your state's official Public Distribution System (PDS) website.

  • Navigate to the "e-KYC for Ration Card" section.

  • Enter your ration card number and Aadhaar number.

  • Verify using the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number

  • Submit the details to complete the e-KYC process. 

2. Offline via Fair Price Shops (FPS) or Common Service Centres (CSCs)

  • Visit your nearest FPS or CSC.

  • Provide your ration card and Aadhaar card. 

  • Undergo biometric verification (fingerprint or iris scan).

  • Obtain a confirmation slip upon successful completion. 

3. Doorstep Service in Gujarat

In Gujarat, the Department of Posts is offering free doorstep e-KYC services:

  • Postal workers visit beneficiaries' homes to complete the e-KYC process.

  • Services are also available at ration shops and community camps.

  • If your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, postal workers can assist in updating it before completing e-KYC.

  • Mera e-KYC App: Allows users to complete e-KYC by entering Aadhaar details and verifying via OTP.
