Gujarat Makan Sahay Yojana: In the Housing Assistance Scheme, to overcome the difficulties of living in cities and villages, homeless people belonging to socially and educationally backward classes, economically backward classes, nomadic free castes are provided financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh 20 thousand for building houses in rural and urban areas to those who have their own plots. The period for completing the construction of the house is 2 years.
- First installment: Rs. 40,000
- Second installment: Rs. 60,000
- Third installment: Rs. 20,000
Terms and Conditions:
The beneficiary must not have received benefits from any other government housing scheme, either individually or through family members.
The total amount provided under the Dr. Ambedkar Awas Yojana will not be sufficient to complete the entire construction of the house. The beneficiary will need to add their own funds to complete the construction.
The annual income should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000 in rural areas and Rs. 1,50,000 in urban areas.
Additional Benefits:
Rural beneficiaries can avail of 90 days of unskilled labor employment for housing construction under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme through the Taluka Panchayat.
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, rural residents can receive Rs. 12,000 for toilet construction from the Taluka Panchayat, and urban residents can avail of this amount from the Nagarpalika or Mahanagarpalika.

- Aadhar card of the applicant
- Ration card
- Election credentials
- Caste/Sub-caste certificate
- Proof of total annual income
- Proof of residence (e.g., electricity bill, lease agreement, or election card)
- Bank passbook or canceled check in the applicant’s name
- Land ownership documents (land size form, rights form, etc.)
- A copy of the land map for construction, signed by the Talati-cum-Minister
- Building construction lot document
- An affidavit stating that the applicant has not previously availed of this scheme
- Death certificate of the husband (for widows)
