PM Modi Launched farmers' pension scheme | Pradhanmantri Kishan ManDhan Yojna | Government Scheme | Updates MaruGujarat: Under the 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Mandhan Yojana', farmers between 18 and 40 years of age will get Rs 3,000 monthly pension after reaching 60.

The scheme has an outlay of Rs 10,774 crore for the next three years.
All small and marginal farmers who are currently between 18 to 40 years can apply for the scheme.

Government of India has introduced a pension scheme for unorganised workers, namely Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM) to ensure old age protection for Unorganised Workers.

The unorganised workers mostly engaged as home-based workers, street vendors, mid-day meal workers, head loaders, brick kiln workers, cobblers, rag pickers, domestic workers, washermen, rickshaw pullers, landless labourers, own-account workers, agricultural workers, construction workers, beedi workers, handloom workers, leather workers, audiovisual workers and similar other occupations whose monthly income is Rs 15,000/ per month or less and belong to the entry age group of 18-40 years. They should not be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS), Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) scheme or Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Further, he/she should not be an income taxpayer.

Features of PM-SYM: It is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme, under which the subscriber would receive the following benefits :

(i) Minimum Assured Pension: Each subscriber under the PM-SYM, shall receive minimum assured pension of Rs 3000/- per month after attaining the age of 60 years.

(ii) Family Pension: During the receipt of a pension, if the subscriber dies, the spouse of the beneficiary shall be entitled to receive 50% of the pension received by the beneficiary as a family pension. Family pension is applicable only to a spouse.

(iii) If a beneficiary has given a regular contribution and died due to any cause (before age of 60 years), his/her spouse will be entitled to join and continue the scheme subsequently by payment of regular contribution or exit the scheme as per provisions of exit and withdrawal.

Voluntary and Contributory Scheme Matching Contribution by Government

Officials of the Ministry of Agriculture have made it clear that there will be no fees to register for PM-KMY. And if a farmer is already getting the benefit of PM-Kisan scheme then he will not have to submit separate documents for this pension yojana.

Under this pension scheme, you can opt to contribute directly from the benefits received from PM-Kisan scheme. This way, you will not have to spend money directly from your wallet.

If a contributor leaves the scheme within a period of less than ten years from the date of joining then his share of contribution would be returned to him with savings bank rate of interest payable thereon.

If a farmer wants to leave the scheme in between, then his money would not go waste. The amount that has been deposited till his departure will get interest equal to the savings account of banks.

PM Kisan Mandhan Yojana Offline registration

Step 1 - Farmers who want to join the scheme will have to go to the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).

Step 2 - Following are the things they will need for enrolment process: Aadhaar Card and Savings Bank Account Number with IFSC Code

Step 3 - Initial contribution amount in cash has to be made to the Village Level Entrepreneur.

Step 4 - He will fill in Aadhaar number, Name of subscriber and Date of birth as printed on aadhaar card for authentication.

Step 5 - He will also complete the online registration by filling up the other details.

Step 6 – After that system will auto-calculate monthly contribution payable according to the age.

Step 7 - Subscriber will pay the 1st subscription amount in cash to the VLE.

Step 8 - A unique Kisan Pension Account Number will be generated & Kisan Card will be printed.
