The 21-day lockdown puts the economy at around Rs. The damage to human life is even greater, with the possibility of loss of 9 million crores
Rajasthan, Telangana, Kerala and Maharashtra advocate lockdown, Shivraj and Khattar among BJP-ruled states also support increased lockdown
The National Desk. The central government has declared a 21-day lockdown across the country to counter the Corona crisis. In the wake of the lockdown, the hardships of the families living in homes and the economy will be estimated at Rs. Despite the loss of Rs 9 lakh crores, the chief ministers of some states are advocating for a lockdown by threatening to harm human life from the corona. Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh, Haryana.
The loss of life is greater than the economic loss
It is estimated that due to the 21-day lockdown, the entire country has lost about Rs. 9 lakh crores could be damaged. Millions of people are becoming unemployed, and millions of families can be put in extremely turmoil, depending on their daily income. The second biggest threat against each of these fears is that despite the tight lockdown, the proportion of corona transitions across the country is increasing at an alarming rate. If the lockdown is removed, social distancing will be reversed, leading to increased fear of infection and mortality.
CMs in favor of increasing lockdown
The Prime Minister held a video conference with the chief ministers of various states on Thursday and sought a plan to increase or limit lockdown by holding a high level meeting with the central ministers on Monday. At the video conference, each of the CMs portrayed the state of their own state. In which Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Health Minister Rajesh Tope advocated a lockdown. Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has also made a statement that the economy can be set up later but saving lives is a priority at present. Haryana Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar has already advocated extending the lockdown period. Kerala has strictly enforced curfew in some cluster areas despite lockdown across the country. CM Vijayan is also supportive of a lockdown. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has endorsed the lockdown.
What will the central government do now?
It is certain that prolonging the lockdown period will increase economic losses and the loss of people. So too is the possibility that the corona crisis will increase in parallel. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether the central government will provide itself with a bitter but inevitable drug to prolong the lockdown or leave the decision on extending the lockdown to the states at its sole discretion, avoiding the danger of confusion. It is also likely that the states currently hold lockdowns in areas where corona transmission is high or tighten and try to resuscitate life in the rest of the area.
